Abstract

BENITO JUNIOR, Eugênio. Anguish and technology. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2013, vol.35, n.55, pp. 133-147. ISSN 0101-3106.

The human being, able to contemplate the stars, remains, in this paper, between the excess that can kill and that other one that releases him from the boredom of living. The Greek myth of Prometheus gave to man, at once, technology and anguish, and since then he has exceeded the use of one to assuage the effects of other. Aiming to avoid the dangerous effects of excessive technology, the Heideggerian philosopher Hans Jonas proposes an ethics for high technology era.

Keywords : Technoethics; Anguish; Myths.
