In western civilization, the square is a key element of a city's architecture: it is the place of popular speaking and listening. When this space degrades itself, the exercise of democracy degrades too. Because both - democracy and square - were born at the same time and found their reason on democratic societies. Valuing the square and its architecture are important signs of the art of living and enjoying the city.
