Abstract

HERRMANN, Leda. Clinical intimacy: on the intimate matter. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2017, vol.39, n.63, pp. 79-90. ISSN 0101-3106.

The author deals with the clinical intimacy as discussed in Fabio Herrmann's work, developed as a psychoanalytic subject. She also points out its relation with the uncanny dialogue proper to an analytic session. In multiple fields theory, the clinical intimacy goes beyond the analyst/patient relationship. It is a clinical-theoretical subject that goes along the path of clinical grounds while being the primal source for the construction of psychoanalytic knowledge. The paper discusses that our interpretative method holds psychoanalytic therapeutic efficacy by means of clinical intimacy. Nonetheless, it does not get apart from a) why psychoanalytic therapy functions, b) how it cures.

Keywords : Clinical intimacy; Multiple fields theory; Fabio Herrmann.
