Abstract

ALVARES, Jurenice Picado. The danish girl: Lilie Elbe. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2017, vol.40, n.64, pp. 185-197. ISSN 0101-3106.

My proposition is to analise a film The danish girl (Hooper, 2015), examining the different forms of art expression: dramaturgy, cinematography, esthetic (clothing) and language. To look the representation of love through the acceptance and sharing of other's freedom, under the psychoanalytical gaze. This is a biographic film of Lili Elbe which, although based on real events, is still a construction of the trajectory of the professional and personal life of the Danish painter Einar Wegener, considered the first transgender to undergo the sexual reassignment surgery, assuming the name of Lili Elbe. The film portrays Einar's loving relationship with his wife Gerda, the unvelling and implications of Einar's identification as a woman. It diferentiates the trans-sexuality from the homosexuality using the authors Gerald Bonnet and Leticia Glocer Fiorini.

Keywords : Film biography; Sexual identity; Transsexuality; Homosexuality; Analytical work.
