Abstract

MACHADO, Ligia Rebelato. Opened images, voids that look at us. About nuisances of contemporary art. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2019, vol.41, n.67-68, pp. 163-175. ISSN 0101-3106.

The transition from modern to contemporary art is not limited only to temporal issues. Speaking of this process means speaking about a new way of producing and thinking art. This way can make explicit the complexity inherent to any act of looking, so it can make explicit non-evident voids inherent to any image. If voids and gaps feed nuisances that generally arise in the subject when looking at this type of art, only those who really face these nuisances, accepting the risks of losing the unity of a closed world, can experience the possibility of immersing in a universe whose forms, opened to inexhaustible meanings, present themselves beyond static representations.

Keywords : End of art; Contemporary art; Psychoanalysis of art; Philosophy of art.
