Abstract

Starting by the title of the interview given by Freud to an American journalist, George Sylvester Viereck, in 1926 - The value of life -, this article aims to do a reflection about the theme, at the moment when the coronavirus pandemic reaches Brazil. To do so, it draws on Foucault's thought - to whom, one of the fundamental phenomena that occurs in the xix century is the assumption of life by power, the one he called biopolitics - problematizing the relationships between knowledge and power in the current context.
