Abstract

SADDI, Luciana. Pandemic and pandemonies in Brazil: the value of psychoanalysis. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2020, vol.42, n.69, pp. 77-83. ISSN 0101-3106.

This article discusses issues related to the pandemic and social isolation from a psychoanalytic perspective. The guideline begins in March 2020 and exposes the first changes in the daily life of the city of São Paulo, of people and the impact on analysts' offices. Interfaces between setting, remote service, psychoanalytic method, technique and resulting adaptations are explored. The country, with the temporal evolution of the pandemic, finds itself in a theater of absurdities and contradictions, worsened by the lack of leadership and social cohesion - inequalities deepen. Madness and denial preside over bizarre decisions. The number of cases and deaths grows as if inexorable. Psychoanalysis faces the crisis with vigor and creativity. Psychoanalytic institutions circumvent the crisis and learn from experience.

Keywords : Pandemic; Covid-19; Madness; Psychoanalytic method; Technique; Remote care; Creativity.
