Abstract

LISONDO, Alicia Beatriz Dorado de. The day I wasn't born: story of diabolical adoption. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2020, vol.42, n.69, pp. 103-122. ISSN 0101-3106.

Inspired by the film The day I wasn't born, by Florian Cossen (2011), I intend to deepen issues related to the role of truth and lies in the constitution of the psychic life of the "adopted" child (Levinzon, 1994, 1999, 2014). Maria, 3 years old, is stolen from her family of origin, when her parents disappear during the Argentine dictatorship (1976-1983), in an atrocious plot of secrets and lies (Lisondo, 2014). The consequences of the theft and kidnapping of Maria on her personality and on the family of origin, exile, the change of name and surname, are topics addressed. Sensory records of a lullaby, of a doll, the familiarity experienced while being in her homeland, are portals that allow you to get in touch with this diabolic adoption.

Keywords : Adoption; Lie; Truth; Sensoriality; Exile; Reconstruction.
