Abstract

LEITE, Rogério Cezar de Cerqueira  and  PIMENTEL, Helena de Cerqueira Leite. Teddy bears, little figures of the primitive world and death. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2021, vol.43, n.72, pp. 157-160. ISSN 0101-3106.

This paper relates archeology and psychoanalysis in understanding the phenomena of the little figures found in many primitive cultures. Archeologists search for the use of these figures, small size statuetes, representing mainly human figures, that were buried with the dead, a widely spread habit among pre-Columbian and other primitive cultures. The little figures used as a transitional objects to create a shared illusory space, which both affirms and denies the separation in death is discussed.

Keywords : little figures; primitive cultures; transitional object; death.
