Abstract

KOSOVSKI, Pedro Mourthé  and  BITTENCOURT, Maria Inês Garcia de Freitas. Dreaming, cruelty and creativity: the actor's experience in theater. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2010, vol.42, n.1, pp. 89-105. ISSN 0101-4838.

This study's objective is a theoretical discussion about creativity in the actor's work and life. The experience of theatric playing, in the sense Antonin Artaud's "Theater of cruelty", is presented in a dialogue with Winnicott's ideas. The role of aggression in the development of creativity and the concepts of transitionality, playing, creative living and cultural experience, quoted from Winnicott's works, are related to Artaud's propositions. The importance of dreaming experiences, highlighted by both authors, is also considered.

Keywords : theater; creativity; aggression; dreaming.
