Abstract

DANZIATO, Leonardo. Jouissance and power in Lacan's Seminar The Ethics of Psychoanalysis. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2012, vol.44, n.1, pp. 147-166. ISSN 0101-4838.

In this article I present a route defined in the seminar The ethics of psychoanalysis by Jacques Lacan, which I consider essential for a contemporary discussion of ethics and politics. My goal is to demonstrate the constant genealogical articulation that Lacan subtly held between ethics and certain conditions of political possibilities, and economic discourse, especially reading about the "birth of power" in modernity and capitalism and how these phenomena led to a certain subject's position in relation to goods and, therefore, a change in its "economy of pleasure", thus founding the subject of modernity and con-temporariness I propose to consider, in this seminar, a relationship of immanence between enjoyment and political power.

Keywords : enjoyment; power; politics; subject.
