Abstract

SEGER, Débora da Fonseca  and  SOUSA, Edson Luiz André de. Possible compositions: psychoanalysis, music and utopia. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2013, vol.45, n.1, pp. 61-73. ISSN 0101-4838.

Although the approximations between the fields of psychoanalysis and art are common, music has not received the same attention by the main theorists of psychoanalysis. Thus, this article objective is to approach these two areas, identifying possible interlocutions between psychoanalysis and music. We explore references to voice and musicality as found in psychoanalytical theory, especially the lacanian concept of voice as an object a, and the role of the invocation drive in the constitution of the subject. Then, we extend the discussion adding some relationships between music and utopia as elaborated in the work of the philosopher Ernst Bloch.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; music; voice; vocal drive; utopia.
