The purpose of this article is to show the process of medication of psychic through examples of how psychosis is treated in diagnosis and mental disorder statistical manuals, specially the DSM-IV-TR. Firstly, there is a debate between psychoanalysis and biological psychiatry. Then, it is presented how the psychosis is treated in the DSM-IV-TR and its lacking when compared these definitions with the psychoanalytical clinic ones.
