Abstract

DERZI, Carla de Abreu Machado. Catherine of Siena: anorexia and its display through acts. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2014, vol.46, n.1, pp. 134-145. ISSN 0101-4838.

This article aims at addressing Catherine of Siena's anorexia from the point of view of the type of act, inasmuch as it points out to the display of that, which, in reality, evades the symbolic. Various modalities of act are addressed: transition to the act and acting out, solutions found by the saint when faced with the illness felt by her, as well as the Lacanian definition of the act as a transgression of a symbolic limit, in order to discuss the relations between act and feminine.

Keywords : act; feminine; anorexia.
