Abstract

RODRIGUES, Janderson Andrade  and  D'AGORD, Marta Regina de Leão. The addicted's drug: a lenitive to anguish. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2015, vol.47, n.1, pp. 167-179. ISSN 0101-4838.

This papers originates from a clinical question concerning drug use in addiction as a lenitive to anguish. In view of this, we intend to confront and explore two points of divergence between elaborations of Freud and Lacan pertaining to the relationship between drug abuse and anguish. One of these concerns anguish's location, contrary to Freud, to whose point of view, castration precedes and initiates anguish, Lacan locates castration not further, but as allowing the subject to free themselves from an awakening of anguish. The other point concerns the Lacanian formulation about the adherence to the drug included as a measure by which one gets the breakup of a marriage to phallus, while for Freud, is a model of happy marriage.

Keywords : addiction; anguish; castration; the lack; phallus.
