In Lacan's teaching, we took into consideration two subjective and peculiar ways of being - classically called neurosis and psychosis - and we examined them according to the presence of the object a in the psychoanalytic treatment. From the differences concerning that presence, some consequences are analyzed as the conduct of the treatment in the neurosis or in the psychosis case. For such a thing, we fell back on the psychoanalyst's desire and the psychoanalyst's politics, these expressions taken from Lacan's teachings as indispensable ethical articulators to conduct the psychoanalytic treatment of the neurotic and psychotic subject.
