Abstract

CARNEIRO, Cristiana. Childhood and forgetfulness: Constructing the wires of history. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2015, vol.47, n.2, pp. 127-137. ISSN 0101-4838.

This article discusses the relationship between forgetfulness and childhood, pointing childhood as a construction a posteriori of adult. Discusses Freud's work about forgetfulness, linking it to the possibility of remembering the past. The rupture of the bond between the past event and the present time would mean a basic discontinuity in psychic life resulting in the inability to remember; in the impossibility of access to their own history by the subject. Going in the opposite direction, the memory is offered as a possibility to [re]construct that includes a new meaning, pointing to a story that can be modified.

Keywords : childhood; memory; forgetfulness.
