Abstract

GONDAR, Jô. Trauma, culture and creation: Ferenczi with Christoph Türcke. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2016, vol.48, n.2, pp. 135-148. ISSN 0101-4838.

The paper develops the relation among the notions of trauma, repetition and creation, using the notion of trauma as a key to think about the emergence of culture. It shows some affinities between the ideas of a contemporary thinker - the German philosopher Christoph Türcke - and the first-generation psychoanalyst Sándor Ferenczi. The Ferenczian theory of trauma comes from a clinic that values the creative dimension of trauma and symptoms, even the self-destructive ones. This theory is checked against the psychoanalytic drift forwarded by Türcke in two of his books, Philosophy of sensation and Philosophy of dreams, in which he researchs the roots of the process that would have taken the human animal to its current state.

Keywords : trauma; culture; repetition; creation; Ferenczi; Türcke.
