Abstract

FUKS, Betty Bernardo. "Ask the horse!": on the freudian unconscious. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2017, vol.49, n.1, pp. 123-138. ISSN 0101-4838.

A joke recorded in a letter from Freud to Fliess, dated august 7th 1898, inspired this article that analyses two important moments of the construction of the unconscious concept - the first is founded on meaning and the second on the indomitable force of the drive that led Freud to enunciate the imperative of drainage of the river water, which is a "work of culture", summarized in the formula Wo Es war, sol Ich werden. Our purpose extends to a demonstration of the different clinical strategies that contributed to the development of this theoretical path. Following these coordinates, we introduce at the end a discussion about the future of psychoanalysis through a short tale written by Franz Kafka.

Keywords : unconscious; psychoanalytical clinic; culture.
