Abstract

LIMA, Nádia Laguárdia de. The reverse side of psychoanalysis: a new law of the father?. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2017, vol.49, n.1, pp. 139-157. ISSN 0101-4838.

One strives, in this article through the theoretical debate, to demonstrate that Lacan, in his seminar The reverse side of psychoanalysis (1969-1970/1992), formulates the basis for a new law of the father that goes beyond the father of the paternal metaphor. In order to carry out this reflection, he presents an articulation between the inconsistency of the Other and the inconsistency of the father, having as line of thinking the real as impossible. The article is divided in two parts. In the first one, it highlights some Lacan’s formulations, since the end of the decade of 1950, that lead him to surpass the Freudian father. In the second, it presents certain ways covered by Lacan in The reverse side of psychoanalysis, in order to reach a new law of the father.

Keywords : reverse; psychoanalysis; object; inconsistency; father.
