The objective of this study is to present how sensacionism is sought in the poems and philosophy of the heteronymous personae Alberto Caeiro and also the concept of floating attention proposed by Freud, complemented by Bion and other contemporary psychoanalysts such as Bollas, Ferro e Nasio, in order to observe the possible convergences and divergences about both concepts in the literary and psychoanalytic field. Starting from the interface between psychoanalysis and literature, Fernando Pessoa’s proposal for the aesthetics of Alberto Caeiro’s poetry was researched and, after that, the concept of uniformly and partially suspended attention was lifted from the psychoanalytic field, to articulate the two fields of knowledge and between the two concepts presented.
