Abstract

CAMARA, Leonardo  and  HERZOG, Regina. Preliminary aspects for a study on inhibition in Freud. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2018, vol.50, n.1, pp. 53-71. ISSN 0101-4838.

In this article directives are proposed for pondering over the notion of inhibition in Freudian theory, inhibition being understood as the experience of having difficulty to act. For such, it's performed an historical contextualization of the term inhibition in the scientifical field, followed by an identification of the different uses that Freud made of it in his works. From the formulation that inhibition is a restriction of the ego's function and the indication of some issues with the translation of the term, its outline is delimited in the interior of the metapsychological concepts. Finally, two figures are presented: the dynamic inhibition and the economical inhibition.

Keywords : Inhibition; metapsychology; psychoanalysis; Freud.
