MOREIRA, Jacqueline de Oliveira; OLIVEIRA, Nathiéle Araujo  y  COSTA, Ethyene Andrade. Psychoanalysis and Scientific Research: the researcher in the position of the analysant. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2018, vol.50, n.2, pp. 119-142. ISSN 0101-4838.

Psychoanalysis has advanced and has become an important field for academic studies in Brazil, receiving increasing attention from several graduate courses in the country. Nevertheless, one must not ignore the tensions between psychoanalytical knowledge and positivist models of science. In an effort to respond to the methodological impasse which presents itself as a difficulty for the participants of such graduate programs, this essay reflects on the relations between psychoanalytic theory - notably Lacanian contributions - and scientific research. From a critical review of the literature on this matter emerges a new type of research using psychoanalytical clinic as an instrument to produce goals and data, as well as to analyze them. The managing of transference, utilized for constructing a text, turns the researcher and their object of analysis into equals, since they both suppose that they can find in one another some knowledge which may help elaborate in words the reality which moves them. Listening to the unconscious, beyond the analytic setting, may produce a type of knowledge which is partial and transformable, as it intends to better comprehend the sources of constant movement and transformation. We believe that the researcher should put him/herself in the position of the analysant, i. e., someone moved by not knowing, but who produces effects on him/herself as well as on the act of researching, bringing thus the possibility of an encounter with the new.

Palabras clave : psychoanalysis; methodology; psychoanalytic research; graduate courses.
