Abstract

BENEDITO, Maira Brandão  and  PINHEIRO, Nadja Nara Barbosa. Environment and integration in the process of emotional development: considerations based on the experience of working with children at psychosocial. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2018, vol.50, n.2, pp. 309-329. ISSN 0101-4838.

This article presents considerations based on Winnicott's theory that were originated from the professional experience of the first author as a psychologist at the Psychosocial Unit of a Children's Court in Curitiba. Initially, the concept of environment is presented according to Winnicott's formulations. Following on, an overview of the municipal proposal of care for children at risk is displayed as well as the legislation that underpins this proposal of care. In the sequence, some thoughts on the role of the environment in the primitive emotional development, as proposed by Winnicott, are presented, articulating it to the process of integration. The literary character Humpty Dumpty is used as a metaphorical resource to illustrate this primitive process of subjective organization. It ends by highlighting some consequences of this perception for our daily work.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; environment; psychosocial risk; emotional development; Winnicott.
