DARRIBA, Vinicius Anciães. Perspectives of the relationship between psychoanalysis and science in Lacan. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2019, vol.51, n.1, pp. 11-37. ISSN 0101-4838.

The article examines two perspectives through which are addressed the relationship between psychoanalysis and science in Lacan. They do not imply an opposition. The first focuses on the logical connection whereby the emergence of psychoanalysis depends on the resulting science operation, whereas the second interrogates, from the analytic discourse, the effects of the presence of science in the world. In the first perspective, it is stressed that the relationship between psychoanalysis and science has reference to the impossibility that science leads. In the second perspective, we emphasize the indication of the expansion of the segregation process as a consequence of universalization introduced by science. The confluence of these two perspectives requires the examination, in Lacan's teaching, of the analysis on the copulation between science and capitalism. In this analysis it is clear, on one hand, that the affinity capitalism meet with science may be reported to the universalization associated with its expansion, and, on the other hand, that capitalism is a discourse rejecting rift that would be the basis of discourses, particularly as regards the limit that science, as conceived from the analytic discourse, engender.

Palavras-chave : psychoanalysis; science; Lacan; segregation; capitalism.
