VERCEZE, Flávia Angelo  e  CORDEIRO, Silvia Nogueira. Not-all femininity: a systematic review of the literature. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2019, vol.51, n.2, pp. 140-165. ISSN 0101-4838.

In listening to hysterics, Freud became one of the first scholars to wonder about femininity and female sexuality. Lacan resumes Freud's path and brings important contributions to the study of the feminine. Nonetheless, for psychoanalysis, it remains an issue of much controversy due to the radical social transformations regarding femininity and female sexuality patterns. In this sense, this article aims to understand how psychoanalysis has approached femininity and female sexuality in Freud's and Lacan's perspective over recent years. Hence, a systematic review of the literature on the subject with a time cut from 2000 to 2018 was accomplished since this period corresponds to the change between the 20th and 21st centuries, which presents a new social, political e economical context. The studies that made up the final database were explored in detail. In this analysis, both quantitative - general data - and qualitative aspects were taken into consideration. In the qualitative aspects, an analysis of the theory presented led us to synthesize the studied phenomenon into four categories: femininity and the pre-oedipical relation, Femininity and the real: the not-all phallic logic, Women and love, and Femininity and motherhood. One can conclude that the Lacanian psychoanalytic theory has advanced greatly in understanding the feminine, extending the comprehension beyond anatomic sexual differences or according to a naturalistic conception based on the biologic female body. The pattern of femininity has changed, opening the way for new forms of sexuation in women, even though something ineffable still remains, which escapes the word.
