Abstract

LEMKE, Ruben Artur; RAVANELLO, Tiago  and  COSTA, Márcio Luis. The problem of ontology in Lacanian psychoanalysis. Tempo psicanal. [online]. 2021, vol.53, n.2, pp. 194-227. ISSN 0101-4838.

The ontology discussion is related to the politics of psychoanalysis since every theory imposes a form and carries the effects of power. For this reason, all clinical practice needs to realize a critique of the ontological decisions underlying conceptual constructions. In this paper we intend to indicate that there is a kind of refusal to the ontology problems in the Lacanian psychoanalysis. The main modes of this refusal are the overcome of the ontology by the elevation of the psychoanalysis to an ethical statute, by an internal evolution of its conceptual framework and by the abolition of the discussion about the referent for the signifier. Then we present the positioning of critical authors that make exception to the discourse of overcom ing, as well as the parameters by which they propose to approach the theme of the ontology. Finally, we seek to justify the importance of the ontological discussion in psychoanalysis, and we suggest the resumption of a dialogue with Heidegger as a strategy to approach the theme.
