This article proposes an inquiry into the contributions and possible applications of Freud's work to the study of collective memory. Through a theoretical and critical revision of this author's work, this article emphasizes his developments and contributions to this topic, underlining its questionings. The article will conclude by observing the existence of a theoretical corpus, aimed to analyze the collective memory, which can be distinguished within the Freudian work and applied in the research of specific social contexts.
