Abstract

The purpose of this article is to compare concisely the psychoanalytic and the psychiatric views about psychosis concerning both its ethiopathogeny and its treatment strategy, using as a standard example the Schreber’s paranoia case report, by Freud. Likewise, the psychogenesis of this case is briefly discussed according to the main psychoanalytic theories available, looking for a global vision about this subject.
