Abstract

DAVID, Cláudio Munayer. The musicality of speech: Freud's sonorous object. Reverso [online]. 2006, vol.28, n.53, pp. 107-112. ISSN 0102-7395.

In the article A Project for a Scientific Psychology, Freud describes the structure of the psychic apparatus ranging from the newborn's screams to the socially shared words, identifying the sonorous representation as a privileged link to the wish object at the point of origin of drive. The talk sounds that escape from word representation interfere in the semantics of the discourse and thoughts, being part of a constant interplay in the search of wish-fulfillment. Some of these representations can be translated by the very logic of musical language.

Keywords : Scream; Drive; Wish; Sonorous representation; Talk sounds.
