Abstract

CHAVES, Messias Eustáquio. Cuts and effects: Psychoanalysis is the effect of a cut. Reverso [online]. 2008, vol.30, n.55, pp. 65-72. ISSN 0102-7395.

We propose that psychoanalysis is the result of an act made by one of Freud’s first patients that modified Freud’s way of listening and also affected his wish, driving him on to the scientific formulation of psychoanalytic theory. Further more, this article points out different acts reported throughout Freud’s works that have caused crucial effects to psychoanalytic movements and also to the development of clinical theory.
