Abstract

FONSECA, Maria Carolina Bellico. The object of anxiety in Freud and Lacan. Reverso [online]. 2009, vol.31, n.57, pp.39-44. ISSN 0102-7395.

In this article, the author works with the seemingly antagonic ideas of Freud and Lacan on the object of anguish. For Freud, anguish has no object and for Lacan, anguish cannot exist without an object. Knowing that Lacan was a great student of Freud, the author became interested in what seemed to be, until then, a contradiction of the master; thereon deciding to do research in both texts in the quest of understanding  this apparent discordance.

Keywords : Anguish; Destitution; Object a; Das Ding.
