Abstract

Based upon Freud’s interpretations of Schreber’ deliriums in his classic study “The Schreber Case”, we herein introduce and operate with concepts used by the sociologist Pierre Bourdieu (the crisis of symbolic investiture) and the philosopher Walter Benjamin (aspects on the increase in violence in relation to the crisis of modernity). Our objective is to amplify the study on paranoia, considering it within the historic context in which paranoics act.
