Behaviors and practices are transformed in today’s world where virtuality generates new forms of linkages and solitude. In consequence, the practices of gambling change. They include youth, women and the elderly. They have become more lonesome, less socialized, a condition that involves all social classes. Gaming compulsion seems more frequent and determinant. Pathological gaming is one among other addictive disorders. The interest in the specificities of the gambling woman is useful to elucidate and enhance our knowledge about this form of addiction in our globalized era. Is the gambling woman a “gambling-man”? Why does she gamble? I will try to answer these questions but the fact that a person may become addictive to gambling is one of the enigmas of human addiction. The psychic suffering generated by this form of addiction is located within the heart of a subjectivity that oscillates between what is reasonable and what is excessive. Game may become a paroxistic and destructive passion, with a dominance of the latter.
