The issue of domestic violence against women presents in an inquirer way when the love affairs that are marked by the violence show a particular kind of jouissance, where the Other is everything. Women are subjected to violent men and are inable to break the endless cycle of resignation in relation to the Other. To some women, the insatiable search for the Other is metonymically displaced from mother to man, thus perpetuating her as an despicable object, worthless. For this reason, violence has connotations of love, an inverted love, leading her to enjoy the devastation.
