Abstract

FONSECA, Maria Carolina Bellico. Union and destroying: to faces of love. Reverso [online]. 2012, vol.34, n.64, pp. 63-68. ISSN 0102-7395.

What leads a lover, frustrated with the end of a love affair, to the killing of his (her) own partner? We know that love, in its narcissistic and specular face, can be dangerous, because it is often necessary to eliminate the partner lover to avoid disappearing in the subject who is in love. In the other hand, danger can also be present in a situation, in which there is a feeling of possession that comes as a correlation between being and having. Love can extend itself from union to destruction and frustration plays an important role in this way of transition. The author, using these ideas to think about passional crimes, so common nowadays, seeks to understand the behavior of these individuals who destroy their love objects.

Keywords : Love; Narcissism; Agressiveness; Frustration; Castration; Privation.
