Both as a proposal and as a question, this paper is a clinical indication which could help the organization of Institutions and also people working with Health in giving support to men/fathers in a neonatal ITU when their child is prematurely born. The data come from a research where we paid attention to fathers whose babies were in a neonatal ITU. We talked to them and hear carefully what they had to say. The premature birth and consequent in-patient Hospital care of their babies introduces, since then, a traumatic discontinuation in the parental functions, interfering in the organization of these functions.
