This article aims at analyzing the tale Hiato, from the work Tutameia, by Guimarães Rosa, under Freud and Lacan’s notion of trauma, emphasizing its impossibility of representation. It is expected to show that the trauma, in the tale Hiato, is part of a Rosian Project of writing depuration which involves the letter, in the lacanian sense of coast.
