Abstract

SANTORO, Vanessa Campos. Female sexuality: a puzzle to be deciphered. Reverso [online]. 2016, vol.38, n.72, pp. 67-72. ISSN 0102-7395.

Starting from Freud’s question “what do women want ?” Lacan contributed to solve the position of the feminine in sexuation and he places it as a riddle to be solved. He uses mathematic writing on boards of sexuation to deal with masculine and feminine conceived as places and positions in the spoking beings. In women there is a division between two enjoyments: the phallic enjoyment and the Other enjoyment. Women are never entirely in one side or the other. How does each feminine subject deals with this scission ? Sexuation is opened to a choice and its inscriptions are not established by tradition.

Keywords : Feminine; Masculine; Phallic enjoyment and the Other enjoyment; Appeal to love more “dignified”; Forced choice.
