Abstract

BOUTEILLER, Benoît le  and  MELLO, Carlos de Brito e. Mourning and melancholia: variations with Freud’s text.Translated byBernardo Maranhão. Reverso [online]. 2017, vol.39, n.73, pp. 35-44. ISSN 0102-7395.

Sigmund Freud, based upon his discovery, sets new landmarks concerning melancholia. In this article, we draft a brief archeology of this Freudian elaboration and examine how Lacan unfolds it. Which are the incidences of these constructions upon our differential clinic? Can they constitute a key to the apprehension of an aspect of the uneasiness of our contemporary civilization? We explore such questions based upon Freud’s text Mourning and melancholia and upon possible variations that may derive from it.

Keywords : Melancholia; Freud; Lacan; Differential clinic; Uneasiness of our contemporary civilization.
