Abstract

SOUTO, Fabrizia Izabel Meira; MOREIRA, Jacqueline de Oliveira  and  PENA, Breno Ferreira. The development of the idea of repetition in freudian texts: a chronologic overview. Reverso [online]. 2018, vol.40, n.76, pp. 47-54. ISSN 0102-7395.

The present article aims to discuss how the concept of repetition is constructed and developed throughout Freud’s oeuvre. We suggest that the idea of repetition is discussed in the author’s pre-psychoanalytic texts through the notion of neuronal facilitation. Later, the concept is lapidated as it is articulated with the ideas of transference, resistance and elaboration. Finally, it relates to the idea of repetition compulsion. It can be concluded that, even though the development of this concept is based on clinical experience, it is decisive for the construction of the subject.

Keywords : Freud; Psychoanalysis; Repetition; Transference; Repetition compulsion.
