This text proposes an investigation of the psychic dynamic of suicide from the unveiling of the Self in melancholy. Suicide was considered from the perspective of the melancholic identification with the lost object, also investigating the statute of the object in question. From psychoanalysis, it was sought to uncover some points of the issue involving the suicidal act, highlighting the unbearable that affects the subject in this experience, resulting in the erasure of subjectivity and the passage to the act as a last resource
