Abstract

Passive phallus is a notion elaborated by Bonaparte (1967) and Loewenstein (1935) and concerns phallic passivity in both men and women. Our aim is to clarify the inaugural sense of the term and demonstrate its relevance to current psychoanalytic studies. Such a notion forgotten by most psychoanalysts is relevant today is sometimes promising under the auspices of the generalized seduction theory and on the other, underlying the understanding of obsessive metabolism
