Abstract

Lacan's references to Fellini's film La Dolce vita exemplifying the notion of Thing. In addition to these mentions, we interpret other scenes from La Dolce Vita that exemplify the Thing of Lacanian seminars and the stranger [Unheimlich] described by Freud. Marcello, the film's main character, played by actor Marcello Mastroiani, synthesizes the incapable of identification to his father, of finding objects that satisfy him lovingly and professionally.
