Abstract

REGO, Marco Antônio Vasconcelos. O Áporo de Drummond: um olhar junguianoDrummond's Áporo: a jungian look. Junguiana [online]. 2021, vol.39, n.2, pp. 171-186. ISSN 2595-1297.

Jung paid a lot of attention to artistic production, including the literary, emphasizing its potential to reveal contents of the unconscious. The motivation for this work arose from a middle-aged man's dream, in which the word áporo, unknown to him, clearly appeared. The search for the meaning of this word led him to the poem Áporo by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, one of the most analyzed by critics of Brazilian literature. The poem contains symbolic elements which refer to a parallel with the archetypes described by Jung in the scope of analytical psychology, such as ego/persona, shadow, anima/animus and Self. Therefore, the objective of this work was to describe and to analyze the symbolic aspects of the poem, and it was concluded that its progression suggests an individuation process.

Keywords : poetry; áporo; literature; individuation; Carlos Drummond de Andrade.
