Abstract

MARCOS, Cristina Moreira. Anorexia: an affinity between love and the female?. Psicol. clin. [online]. 2016, vol.28, n.1, pp. 105-121. ISSN 0103-5665.

This article discusses the major incidence of anorexia in young women these days, trying to extract a possible relationship between anorexia and female. We start from the premise that anorexia is not female because of the culture, but it is a position of the subject in which evidences a structural affinity with the feminine. The incidence of social causality on the subject is not neglected, however you need to check that it does not constitute as an efficient cause. We can not fail to note that, nowadays, the skinny body is an image of the female. Being thin indicates the adequacy of the ideal female body transmitted by social discourse. However we must also ask ourselves about the position of the subject as such. Why anorexia has privileged expression in young women? - This is our issue. Our hypothesis is that anorexia may be at the same time, a response to impairments in female sexualization and a demand for love.

Keywords : anorexia; female; love; puberty; psychoanalysis.
