Abstract

SCORSOLINI-COMIN, Fabio  and  SANTOS, Manoel Antônio dos. Construct, organize, transform: theoretical considerations about psychic transmission among generations. Psicol. clin. [online]. 2016, vol.28, n.1, pp. 141-159. ISSN 0103-5665.

This theoretical study aims to present the concept of psychic transmission between generations or transgeracional psychic transmission, discussing the main transformations and its propositions through time. Initial aspects of psychoanalysis referring to the subject were retrieved, especially from French theorists such as René Kaës and Alberto Eiguer, and also some contemporary theories about social bonds, like those of Pierre Benghozi. Not only is it studied how family heritages are transmitted from one generation to the other, but also how they are modified and actualized in the present time. Conjugality, marital relationships and parenting are presented as a possibility of reestablishing initial traumatic bonds, promoting family resilience, which is the subjective and transubjective capacity of its members to loosen and constitute their new bonds, and to face, overcome, and even be strengthened by the adversities of life. The work of psychic transmission between generations exceeds the focus on the negative, having to engage with new arrangements of affiliative bonds in interpersonal relationships established during development.

Keywords : psychic transmission between generations; conjugal relations; parenting.
