The adolescence requires psychic elaboration of many losses and the construction of a new identity. Faced with this, several conflicts can be raised, being relevant the psychotherapeutic work to promote and maintain the emotional health of adolescents. Some psychotherapeutic framings may occur from the identified demands, such as group psychotherapy, individual and family. The present study thus aims to discuss intervention strategies employed in the field of adolescence, stemming from experiences of individual psychotherapy of the adolescent and family psychotherapy, in which the teen may be inserted. This is a theoretical and clinical study, undertaken through a qualitative research based on psychoanalytic approach with emphasis on the contributions of Winnicott’s theory. As a result, it can be indicated that family involvement directly or indirectly in the psychotherapeutic process is critical to a successful development of the analytical process, which may favor the autonomy and health of young people.
