Resumen

SILVA, Milena da Rosa et al. About transference in parents-baby psychoanalysis. Psicol. clin. [online]. 2017, vol.29, n.2, pp. 193-208. ISSN 0103-5665.

In this paper, questions regarding how the transferential field composes itself on the parent-infant psychoanalytical treatments are brought to consideration. Through the studying of authors who have dedicated their work to babies, as well as through our clinical experience, we try to capture what is the infant’s role on the psychoanalytical setting. Is it possible to consider that there are transferential manifestations by the baby? Which transference(s) do we come across in such treatments? It is suggested that, although not yet capable of expressing verbally its psychic suffering, the baby finds other forms of communicating. We consider that many babies, in the presence of the therapist, feel there’s a possibility of sending messages that, until then, could only be communicated through symptoms. Thus, we believe that the baby is capable of transference, and that many transferences are placed in these treatments. The question of choosing which of these movements to work with is a decision that the analyst has to make, and one unique to each treatment.

Palabras clave : psychoanalysis with babies; transference; parent-infant psychotherapies.
