Abstract

AUTUORI, Marina  and  GRANATO, Tania Mara Marques. Children referral for psychological care: an integrative literature review. Psicol. clin. [online]. 2017, vol.29, n.3, pp. 449-467. ISSN 0103-5665.

This work aims to explore the current scientific production on the referral of children to psychological support, once the increasing demand for children support has been opposed to high rates of neglecting proposed intervention. Based on research papers published between 2008 and 2015 on indexed journals at PePSIC, SciELO Brazil, LILACS, MEDLINE/PubMed, PsycARTICLES (APA), Social Services Abstracts (ProQuest) and Elsevier databases, we conducted an integrative review of scientific literature. A detailed analysis of the selected papers allowed us to list five thematic axes on which the recent researches are arranged: Reasons for children referral, Children referral sources, Supported children profile, The parents and their children psychological support, and Psychological treatment interruption. The thematic approach of scientific literature allowed us to explore distinct aspects that characterize the children psychological referral dynamic, as well as put forward new studies.

Keywords : referral; psychology; child.
